Do you believe in fairies?
If I told you I believe in fairies, what would you say? Or more so, what would you think?
Would you agree and leap into a gitty conversation of that flowery meadow where you once felt their presence? Or would you mentally roll your eyes and think of me a little cockoo?
If the answer is the latter or something to that extent, have you asked yourself why is that? Is it because you actually in know without a shadow of a doubt that there is not a single fairy on this planet or is it because you have been taught to believe that fairies only exist in fairytales?
This is not actually about fairies at all. But more so about how open you are for things that you don't yet see. Where is the limit of your beliefs and how much logic and concrete evidence you need before you become a believer of magic?
When you are dreaming of a fairytale life, when you are starting to tap into your dreams, the faith you have for the unknown is tested. A lot. And the thing that is keeping you from your fairytale is exactly that lack of faith.
Don't get me wrong, I doubt as much as the next person. But the thing is, if you don't know how to come out of that doubt and tap back into trusting in the magic of your life - the magic won't show itself. Or, more so you won't notice it if it is not staring you at the face. Or, you might notice yet still not believe. And suddenly, you are blocking your own fairytale from happening.
Let's say you are dreaming of meeting your soulmate. You are putting yourself out there and looking for the fairytale love, that ultimate match. What if you then meet him but you don't truly believe it could happen for you?
Picture this. You are standing in a line to get your groceries and finally come face to face with your perfect match. Your eyes meet, you get all kinds of butterflies, huge jolts dance in your stomach and chills go through your whole body but because you don't believe, you convince yourself you have a food poisoning?
Is it then the lack of a fairytale or lack of your belief in the fairytale that's causing your life be something less than a dream?
I know it is hard to trust, especially when things seem to crumble around you. But the funny thing is, in retrospect, usually everything is going your way, you just don't see it yet. The fairytale is unfolding as we speak but in the search of the logical explanations, comfort and secure life, we often miss what's really going on. And thus, we make the path longer by clinging into things that are not of that fairytale.
If you give into the flow, if you believe that everything is working out for your favor and actually, fairytales exist, you will start experiencing them way sooner. And maybe, just maybe, you won't blame food poisoning when it's really love at first sight.
Do this with me. For today, because you can do anything for one day, open yourself up to believe in fairies, even just a little. Be open to the possibility that inside that little crook of your favorite tree, there is a a magical creature cooking breakfast? If you can do that, just for one day, I bet you'll notice that your whole day turns out to be just a little more like a fairytale.
And then, go do it again tomorrow. ♡
