Channel your inner princess

It’s a universal truth that a fairytale princess does nothing but waits for her prince to arrive and thus you should not try to be like her, right? Wrong.

Here’s the thing about princesses of our favorite tales  - I think they are misunderstood and I think we all should look up to them as inspiration towards a dream life.

Rolling your eyes there are you? Let me introduce you to a couple of princesses who are helping me prove a point.

Exhibit A: Jasmine

She wasn’t happy with her life so what did she do? Definitely not wait around in her palace because she was told so, nooo. She snuck out, climbed over a wall and vent on an adventure.

Exhibit B: Snow White

To get away from an evil stepmother trying kill her, she moved in with 7 dwarfs in the middle of the woods and took over the household.

Exhibit C: Ariel

She wanted feet. Her dad didn’t agree. So she struck a deal with an evil sea witch. Perhaps not the brightest idea but you got to give credit for the creativity nonetheless.

Exhibit D: Belle

She felt stuck in her little town and didn’t want to be treated like a piece of meat. Solution: move in with a grumpy monster in an enchanted castle to live a little.

Exhibit E: Elsa

So they didn’t accept her for who she was? No matter, she build an ice castle all by herself and topped it off with a snow monster.

And the one thing all of these adventurous heroines have in common? Every single one took action.

I know it is exciting to dream, visualize and get clear on what your dreams look like. And don’t get me wrong, it is also very important. But unless you combine your inner work with action, you are making yourself a disservice.

Most often than not we take on distractions so we don’t have to gather up our courage to take steps towards your fairytale life. Because let’s face it - the idea of all of our dreams coming true is actually pretty scary isn’t it? It is even more scary than to fail trying to get there.

Keeping yourself busy just to say that you don’t have time for your dream life to begin is a lie and you know it. You are more important and your dreams are more important than that. And beyond the fear of succeeding is something magical.

This doesn’t mean you have to hustle, grind or be in your masculine energy 24/7. It doesn’t mean you have to ditch your family, friends and become the most selfish person on the planet. But it does mean embracing the creative, courageous feminine being you are and taking aligned action when it feels right. Following your heart and listening and acting to the nudges that are pointed out by your intuition.

And, if you happen to take the wrong action, you can always course correct as you go. I strongly believe that the only way one can fail is by choosing not to try at all. It’s more likely for your fairytale life to find you if you climb over the wall than if you sit and wait for it in the highest tower.

There is a thing or two we could all learn from our favorite Disney heroines. So pick your princess and turn to her for inspiration on those days when your fear of succeeding convinces you to watch the third season of Bridgerton for the fifth time. Your dream is waiting for you more than Polin. ♡
